Sunday, 2 July 2006 22:44Sheesh.
You think you're doing pretty well for yourself, and then you leaf thru your old university's alumnus magazine and spot a photo you recognise. Hang on, you think, I know her - we were in the Gilbert & Sullivan Soc together. I lent her my belt for her costume in the final scene of 'Patience'.
You read on to discover that she has gone on to do all sorts of high-powered executive stuff, including being the CEO of at least three household name companies (including the Australian divisions of Microsoft, no less, and of Estee Lauder - can't remember what the other one was) and that she has just bought the cosmetic company Stila because she liked their eyeshadow and fancies having a company of her own to run.
In addition, just to show how well-rounded her talents are, when she was still a student, she founded the first women's rugby team in Scotland. And she was an excellent singer (she was one of the soloists, I was in the chorus.)
And she's doing all this with two children under 5.
And the worst bit of it all? She's a year younger than me.
OMG I feel so inadequate, woe!
*goes back to reading LJ in her jammies*
