Some more random stuff - from owl this time

1: grab the book nearest to you. turn to page 18, find line 4. write down here what it says:
"benediction see blessing
bestride striddle" (The Concise English-Scots dictionary)
2: stretch your left arm out as far as you can. what do you touch first?:
The Oxford Dictionary of English Grammar (and very dusty it is too)
3: what is the last thing you watched on TV?:
Black Books
4: WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what the time is: 00:05
5: now look at the clock, what is the actual time?: 00:18
6: with the exception of the computer, what can you hear?:
The clock ticking gently (same as owl) - the occasional car outside.
7: when did you last step outside? what were you doing?:
About 7:30 pm - my eldest dragged me outside to see a fox skull that she'd found.
8: before you came to this website, what did you look at?: My Yahoo email page.
9: what are you wearing?: Black, ankle-length, indian circular skirt; grey Northsound radio t-shirt my brother gave me (because it had pink writing on it and was too girly); favourite hand-knitted (but not by me) baggy chenille jumper in shades of blue and cream; wooden exercise sandals.
10: did you dream last night? what about?: I can't quite remember. Dammit.
11: when did you last laugh? why?:Ummm - sometime this afternoon, mucking about with my daughters. Can't remember precisely what about.
12: what is on the walls of the room you are in?:
Ok: wall clock;
barometer;
watercolour (print) of hill farm with flock of sheep;
framed embroidery of blue-tits on pine branches done by husband's gran;
scenic calendar;
daughter's fairy calendar;
original watercolour of river Bogie (honest!) that runs thru the town nearest to where I grew up in Aberdeenshire, given to us as a wedding present;
large mirror in black and gold frame;
watercolour (print) of a field of poppies by a local Norhtumberland artist (I LOVE poppies);
Large print of a painting of a girl reading a book in a rose garden (another wedding present).
As you can see, we don't go in for the minimalist look in this house :)
13: seen anything weird lately?: Part of a rabbit skull my daughter found (she has a thing for animal bones atm). It was a very bleached white and had delicate, almost spongy-looking, bits of bone just beneath the nasal area. I suppose the rabbit has a very good sense of smell and that was the bit where all the nerves ran through. They weren't attached to the rest of the skull, but fell out when my daughter tipped it up. Oddly pretty.
14: what do you think of this quiz?: Some unusual questions (the 'what are you wearing' one seems to turn up pretty frequently though)
15: what is the last film you saw?: Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
16: if you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?: Chocolate! Then a Morgan car.
17: tell me something about you that I don't know: I used to do archery when I lived in France. Which was fun.
18: if you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?: Find whatever it is that causes aggression and remove it from the nutters who start wars and terrorism.
19: do you like to dance?: I love to dance. Especially bellydance.
20: george Bush: is he a power-crazy nutcase or some one who is finally doing something that has needed to be done for years?: A power- crazy nutcase.
21: imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?: Hmm, have used up four names already with my first two daughters ( a mixture of scottish and welsh names). I quite like Lucy and Elaine, but they don't go with our surname. 'Iona' is very pretty, but 'Iona Lewis' sounds like a map of the Hebrides rather than a name. Jennifer? Rebecca?
21: imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?: Rhys Jamie
22: would you ever consider living abroad?: I lived in France for a year, which was quite good. I'd like to live in Italy, although I'd have to learn Italian first.
23: will you pass on this survey? You're welcome to help yourself to it from my LJ
