Dave was very impressed by the cosplayers and decided to join in. We're not sure what character the toga and giant staff signify (we didn't like to ask) but it's probably anime.
Hee! He was certainly getting into the spirit of the thing.
I think the CGI-stand in being called Dave came out during one of the early behind-the-scenes bits on one of the DVDs, but I'm sure our Dave had already been named at that point, as I remember being amused at the coincidence :)
