It's on its way!

Finally got an email from Amazon to say my ROTK EE dvd had been dispatched! Woohoo!

That'll teach me to combine most of my Christmas online shopping in one big order to save the hassle of having to trek back and forth to Gateshead to pick up lots of individual parcels that have been returned to the courier's delivery office because they always call when I'm out at work. Goodness knows which bit of the order they were waiting for, as it all looked to be available.
Anyway, it's on its way!
And I got an unexpected pressie today! (Good Lord, there are way too many exclamation marks in this post ...)
Tranny!Mel (as opposed to
sunsetmog!Mel) gave me a copy of Sean Astin's book 'There and Back Again'.
Thanks again m'dear :) *hugs* that was so sweet of you to do that.
I've heard a fair bit about it online, and I can't wait to read it, particularly the behind-the-scenes LOTR bits.
I am such a fangirl, lol.
And! I missed the department Christmas lunch (starts 12 noon, finishes about midnight or when the last pub/nightclub closes) last week, but have been invited to husband's team Xmas lunch tomorrow (he happens to work in the same department). Asked my project leader for the afternoon off so I could go to it and not have to rush back to the office afterwards - today he came over to my desk looking very serious and asked me if I'd been to any of the work xmas lunches (and I immediately thought he didn't want to let me have the time off in case we were low on support cover but was reluctant to say no since I'd missed out on the festivities - but it wasn't that at all.) He said I could take the afternoon off and put two hours down to 'Communication' since we're allowed to do that for the department Xmas lunch! Bless him, I wasn't expecting to be allowed to do that for an unofficial team lunch, and it's not even our team.
*beams*
I'm a happy bunny today :)
(Despite the fact that KL-soon-to-be-ex-TL will be moving desks tomorrow to a spot round the corner where I won't be able to perve over his forearms, but then perhaps it's just as well as it does nothing for my productivity.)
