In other news: Happy New Year!

Apologies for not sending any of you Christmas cards - I was hassled and just reused last year's list. Hope you all had a fabulous festive season.

My Mum gave us a digital camera! It's just a very very basic one, but I've been hankering after one for a while now. Expect posts with random illustrations. I may get around to posting the photo of the white Christmas we had up in Scotland, although at this rate it may well be June before I get around to sitting down and working out how to upload the pics onto the comp.

Gah. Christmas was nicely peaceful but New Year and this week were hectic and exhausting. Roll on the weekend. I'd sleep through it all, only I've still got to thrash out the syllabus for next term's bellydance class, which starts on Wednesday. I have no idea what I will teach them yet, but no doubt something will come to mind ...

Unaccustomed tidying fit

I bought a bookcase today :) Lovely big pine thing.

I'm putting it where the filing cabinet is now, and the latter is moving to become my bedside table. But before I can do that, the big amorphous pile of junk next to my bed had to be cleared away.

I knew there was a lot of stuff piled up next to my bed but I never realised quite how much of it there was.

No wonder I could hardly get into my bed.
It took me six blooming hours to sort that lot out. (And there are still a couple of carrier bagfuls of stuff I couldn't face sorting through which will have to be done tomorrow). OMG I'm so knackered.

Note to self: Tidying up at more regular intervals is definitely making it onto the New Year's Resolutions List.

And the really weird thing? Now that I've tidied all the stuff into (temporary) piles in the living room and thrown away at least a third of it, it now takes up four times more space than it did before ... *is confused*
